In the country of Spain, which is popular with German holidaymakers, you will almost no longer have to wear a corona protective mask from tomorrow, Wednesday.
The corresponding decree was approved by the cabinet in Madrid on Tuesday.
This means that after around two years, masks are no longer compulsory in almost all closed public spaces.
For the time being, the obligation to wear mouth and nose protection will only be maintained in public transport and in hospitals, health centers and retirement homes.
The danger posed by the corona virus has “decreased significantly,” Health Minister Carolina Darias told journalists after the cabinet meeting.
This is not least due to the high vaccination rate in the country that was particularly hard hit by the pandemic in spring 2020.
The seven-day incidence in Spain on Tuesday was just under 257 (Germany: 669).
Around 85 percent of the population has received basic immunization.
In Germany it is about 76 percent.
