The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will organize, next Saturday evening, a ceremony to sign the book of the writer Abdul Ghaffar Hussein, "Books and Books... Selected Readings", recently issued by the Foundation.
The book contains 150 book presentations on various topics, including 60 books by UAE authors.
Abdul Ghaffar Hussein said in the introduction to his book: “I try not to be a passing reader, who reads one book and then leaves it to eat another. In the daily newspapers in the Emirates, especially in the Ramadan episodes that I have been writing for more than 20 years in Al Khaleej newspaper, and I think that many readers have read what I said and reviewed throughout these years.
The author is not satisfied with reviewing or reviewing books only, but puts at the forefront of each new review the name and photo of the author of the book, features from his biography, as well as a cover photo, and in some reviews he places a picture of the gifting page that the authors append their signature.
The last pages of the book refer to Abdul Ghaffar Hussein’s professional and personal biography, the positions he held, and his great contributions to public life and culture in particular. Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Award, and he chaired its board of trustees for 16 years, and made other great contributions to writing and publishing, as his books amounted to 12 books.
