A professor calls the police against her two students for a strange reason

US media reported that a Georgia State University professor called campus police to remove two students who were several minutes late for class.

According to (NBC News), Professor Carissa Gray called the police after she asked the tardy students to leave her class, and they refused because they "paid money to be here."

In a video posted on her TikTok page, one of the students said, “Things like this cannot continue to happen to black youth in America.. to stop arming the police against blacks [...] Calling the police for two students for being two minutes late for class is an order. Unreasonable and extremely dangerous.”

According to the Georgia State University Code of Conduct, employees may contact campus police if a student “poses an immediate threat to their safety or the safety of others.”

According to the NBC report, the policy in question relates to "extremist" and "at risk" behavior, making contacting the police inappropriate in this case.

The university said it was investigating: “Campus police arrived after being called by the faculty member and immediately calmed the situation between the students and the faculty member.

It is clear that no crime was committed so there were no arrests.”
