The weather was nice, the eggs were growing in the garden or in the potholes… In short, you didn't have time to watch the news.

Don't panic, we've done it for you!

1. Russia Strikes Western Ukraine

At least seven people were killed and eleven others injured in powerful Russian strikes on Lviv, the major city in western Ukraine usually relatively spared from the fighting.

For two days, no evacuation can take place because of the threat of strikes on the corridors used.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia on Sunday evening of wanting to "destroy" the entire eastern region of Donbass, promising that everything would be done to defend it, starting with the strategic port of Mariupol.

The weekend was punctuated by the broadcast of videos of prisoners.

Russian public television broadcast on Monday that of two prisoners, Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin, claiming to be exchanged for Viktor Medvedchuk, a wealthy Ukrainian businessman close to President Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainians have broadcast a video of the said Medvedchuk, asking to be exchanged for the soldiers and civilians of the besieged city of Mariupol.

2. Last straight line for the presidential election

A Saturday in Eure-et-Loir to talk about rurality for one, in Marseille on the theme of the environment for the other... An Easter Sunday to rest then a very busy Monday to alternate TV sets and baths crowd.

Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen scrapped from a distance trying to destabilize the opponent, with the highly anticipated debate on Wednesday in sight, helped for this by their lieutenants.

After a failed debate in 2017, where she was tired and had poor control of her files, Marine Le Pen believes she is better prepared.

She will now isolate herself to polish this televised duel.

“I will work on my debate at home in a completely normal way as I prepare all the broadcasts,” she said on France Bleu Normandie.

In Paris and in the regions, nearly 23,000 demonstrators went on Saturday to say "no to the far right", without supporting Emmanuel Macron eight days before the second round of the presidential election.

3. Violence in Sweden

Forty people, 26 police officers and 14 civilians, were injured this weekend in Sweden, during violent clashes between the police and demonstrators.

The latter are protesting against the gatherings of a far-right group that wants to burn the Koran in the public square in rallies organized in neighborhoods with a large Muslim population.

In Malmö, where the leader of the movement Rasmus Paludan, sentenced in Denmark for racist insults, burned the sacred book on Saturday, the night from Sunday to Monday was agitated, like the day before, with in particular a fire starting in a school.

4. A failed classic

PSG took a big step towards the title of French Ligue 1 champion by beating OM (2-1) at the Parc des Princes on Sunday evening.

The match, particularly unspectacular, was marked by a very contentious penalty awarded to Paris and errors by the two goalkeepers.

Mbappé and Neymar scored on the Paris side, against Caleta-Car on a corner for the Marseillais.

With only 10 shots in total, we are not far from the worst Classico in history.

5. A successful classic

Dylan van Baarle won Paris-Roubaix on Sunday and gave his first victory in the queen of the classics to Ineos, the richest team in the peloton.

The Dutchman ran the classic at a record pace.

Two weeks after his second place in the Tour of Flanders, he dominated the favorites, the Belgian champion Wout van Aert (2nd) and the Swiss Stefan Küng (3rd), resigned to vying for second place at 1 min 47 sec.

The result rewarded the attacking spirit of his men, who attacked with 210 kilometers to go.
