In an attempt to promote "Dinosaur Kingdom Fukui," Fukui Prefecture has set up a huge dinosaur monument with a total length of 10 meters in the service area of the Hokuriku Expressway.

The monument is a large herbivorous dinosaur "Fukuititan" whose fossils have been excavated in Fukui Prefecture, and was installed in the Nanjo Service Area of the Hokuriku Expressway in Minamiechizen Town.

On the 18th, a commemorative ceremony was held, and Governor Sugimoto and local officials cut the tape.

The monument has a total length of 10 meters and a height of 6 meters, reproducing the size estimated from the fossils found.

There is also a mechanism to move the neck and snort in response to the movement of a person with a sensor, and on the 18th, a child at a local nursery school called for a ceremony used a leaf in front of the dinosaur's nose as food. I enjoyed the reaction by holding it over.

Teruyuki Saito, director of the Dinosaur Strategy Office, Brand Division, Fukui Prefecture, said, "We would like to promote the dinosaur kingdom, Fukui, by installing it in the service area, which is the gateway to the Kansai and Chukyo areas."
