An American gets 450 thousand dollars in compensation for a "birthday" held for him without his consent!

An American was awarded $450,000 in compensation after his co-workers threw a birthday party he didn't want, and was fired.

Kevin Berling said he told his colleagues that he did not want to hold any celebrations, due to fears that it would make him anxious because he was the center of attention.

However, Berling's request was not honored, and a party was held for him in August 2019, after which he had a panic attack after which he had to spend his lunch break hour in his car.

The next day, when his supervisor accused him of behaving like a child, he had a panic attack. The employer considered his behavior during panic attacks to be violent, so they decided to fire him.

But Berling's attorney, Tony Bucher, said his client was not violent but was doing what was necessary to calm himself after the situation.

His lawyers claim that his dismissal means he lost pay increases of up to 300 percent after the company's significant growth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The jury unanimously agreed with Berling's arguments, awarding him $450,000 in compensation, lost benefits and future stipends.
