Axel Hirsoux, Caroline Costa and Fabien Cicoletta approach

The Voice

as a turning point after several years of career.

Marc Lavoine decided to make them face each other in battle.

And, Saturday evening, it is the young woman whom he has chosen to continue the adventure of the telecrochet of TF1.

Axel Hirsoux, ex-representative of Belgium at Eurovision, meanwhile left "without regret or resentment", as he explains to

20 Minutes

.

When Marc Lavoine announced to you that he had chosen "Heavy Cross" by Gossip for your battle, what was your reaction?

I thought to myself “nice”.

It was a new style, which was going to allow me to do something else, to change from my usual register and which I would not have explored if I had not been offered it.

I was very happy with this choice.

I just wanted a title that wouldn't distort what I can do vocally.

Vianney said he appreciated your performance and in particular the part of femininity that you expressed.

Is that a nice compliment?

Completely !

Being a totally assumed gay singer, married to a man for almost twelve years now, I assume this part of femininity.

I also can't go against the fact that I have a high-pitched voice.

I'm not going to deny it.

I am as I am and that people underline that didn't bother me, because it's part of me.

And then, anyway, every man has a part of femininity in him.

Did you expect to be drafted?

The difficulty was being in a trio: mathematically I had fewer chances than in a duel.

After Marc chose to qualify Caroline, what had to happen happened and then there you go.

I told myself that I would walk away proud of myself, whether they fished me out or not.

With the comments from the coaches, I could only be happy.

I still spoke as slowly as possible hoping that someone would buzz (

).

But that didn't happen.

I leave without regret or resentment.

This adventure allowed me to get back on track in the musical world after two years of pandemic.

You also said that it made those who didn't believe in you lie...

Like any artist, I had moments of doubt, I tried things that didn't necessarily work, I heard people tell me to change certain things... I just want to be me and what Vianney underlined concerning me made me feel good too.

It allowed me to move forward with full responsibility.

I want to go further and continue,

The Voice

is just another step in my career.

She did me good.

Was the feedback from the public warm?

After the blind audition, the audience was very benevolent, I didn't receive any nastiness.

There are people who have told me that they appreciate what I can do vocally.

The rest, we'll see, I hope this battle will make people want to work with me, even if I have a great team behind me who supports me, and that many will realize that difference can be a strength.

What are your projects ?

I work on different titles.

I am in the phase where I am offered a lot of things.

I listen, I choose.

It will take time, I will not release anything immediately because I want to take the time to offer the right things at the right time.

I don't want to rush because I'm coming out of

The Voice

.

You participated in “The Voice” in France after having competed in the Belgian version.

You represented Belgium at Eurovision in 2014, would you see yourself returning to the competition to represent France?

(

He laughs

) It's not at all a desire, it's not at all in my objectives, but I said the same with

The Voice

.

Eurovision, I experienced it once, they were magnificent moments, I stored up memories that will never be taken away from me... That's what made me grow and exist, but sincerely , I don't think I will do it again.

I do not want to redo all the course that I have already done.

Eurovision is a unique experience and I think it should remain so.
