(20th century) In the 1990s, when we heard that there was an earthquake (and other disasters), we would donate money. At that time, the donation was quite small. Some donated 5 yuan, and some donated 10 yuan.

[Explanation] On the stack of donation vouchers at Grandma Yan's house, the reporter saw that the old man had donated money to Bailizhou Town for many times. Lizhou Primary School donated 10,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan to Liuxiang Middle School in Bailizhou Town.

[Commentary] Yan Mingzhen said that because of her poor family background, she failed to attend a class in school. She learned to read through self-study later. Children grow up healthy and happy.

In addition, she used to work outside the country, and the villagers took good care of her elderly parents, which also prompted her to donate to the school many times.

I had this wish many years ago. If possible, I must repay the cadres and masses of my (big) team. These people who have cared for my family, their descendants will go to kindergarten in their hometown. The primary school is also in the hometown, and the junior high school is also in the hometown, and most of the people are there.

[Explanation] Over the years, every Qingming Festival, Yan Mingzhen will return to Bailizhou to worship his parents, and sometimes he will visit old fellow villagers and colleagues who are in trouble. She will also lend a helping hand.

The 50,000 yuan donation will be mainly used to develop the collective economy of the village and improve the living environment, so as to live up to Grandma Yan's high hopes for us.

[Explanation] Yan Mingzhen, who donated generously, is very "stingy" to herself. She now lives in an old house in the Xingfu Community of Zhijiang City, and the interior furniture is very old. She usually reads newspapers and books, and does not watch TV. to save electricity.

The three meals a day are very simple and simple, mainly based on light vegetarian food.

My current happy life, and the money (retirement) I received, were all bought by revolutionary martyrs with blood, so I arranged for myself to give some love.

[Concurrent] Sun Qingdong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Bailizhou Town, Zhijiang City, Hubei Province

It is easy for (ordinary people) to donate once, but like Grandma Yan, who donated so many times and donated more than 200,000 yuan, it is really not easy for such a large amount. I (want to) invite Grandma Yan to ( Bailizhou Township Government) organs, (see first) our cadres, especially our grass-roots cadres, carry forward her advanced deeds and this spirit.
