A missing 86-year-old woman was found dead in a mountain near her home in Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture.

Police began an investigation on suspicion of murder and abandonment of the corpse due to the condition of the body.

On the 13th of this month, my family reported to the police that I could not contact Kyoko Fukuyama (86), who lived alone in Nagaobaru-cho, Kanoya City from the previous day.

Police searched the area and found that Mr. Fukuyama had died at around 4 pm on the 13th, as if he had fallen about 6 meters on the slope of a forest near her home.

Police were investigating both the incident and the accident, but after scrutinizing her body, it was discovered on the 15th that her cause of death was traumatic shock.

For this reason, the police set up an investigation headquarters as a murder and corpse abandonment case, assuming that Mr. Fukuyama was murdered and abandoned, and started an investigation.

The site is in a mountain about 8 km south of the center of Kanoya City, where there are almost no houses other than Mr. Fukuyama's home.
