Good prospects: The German Weather Service (DWD) expects friendly spring weather for the Easter holidays.

On Holy Saturday the sun often shines, only in the south there are initially dense clouds and there can be last showers in the Alps, as a DWD meteorologist announced on Friday in Offenbach.

The people in Germany have to say goodbye to the almost early summer temperatures of the past few days.

Especially in western Germany, it is still quite pleasant at 14 to 19 degrees in the afternoon sun.

However, the weather expert recommended a transitional jacket for the eastern half: It was definitely a bit cooler there on Saturday.

"Even on Easter Sunday, the chocolate Easter bunnies stay dry in their hiding places in the garden," says the meteorologist.

Rain is not expected.

The people in the western half can look forward to spring-like mild weather: At temperatures between 16 and 20 degrees, the sun shines mostly.

It will stay a little cooler on Sunday in the east and south-east.

According to the DWD, there are sometimes dense clouds in the sky.

"The nights on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday will be quite fresh, however," explained the meteorologist.

Ground frost is to be expected.

On Easter Monday, the weather didn’t change much: the sun continued to shine the longest in the west at a comfortable 20 degrees, in the east the sun was occasionally obscured by cumulus clouds and it wasn’t quite as warm.
