The missing body of a Moroccan immigrant sparks controversy

In an incident that sparked reactions in Spain, a Moroccan family residing in Barcelona was surprised by the loss of the coffin of the body of a relative, who died in the Catalan city.

The same family, which resides in Terrassa (Barcelona), denounced the loss of the coffin of its relative, who died in that city, and whose body had to be sent to Morocco, in a warehouse at Barcelona Airport (El Prat).

The family, which filed a complaint with the Spanish authorities, says that the coffin of its relative was lost in a warehouse at El Prat Airport, and they received the wrong coffin, and it contained the body of a woman, according to the Moroccan online newspaper Hespress.

The family added that it is considering referring the case to justice, because of the moral damage it sustained, noting that its members were psychologically traumatized, according to the niece of the deceased, Laila Musafer, in statements to the "Periodico" newspaper.

"It's a bad joke, they treated my uncle as if he were just a worthless thing," said a traveler, noting that as a result of this mistake, she is taking antidepressants, and her aunt, the wife of the deceased, cannot even speak.

The affected family had intended to send the body of the deceased, who died on March 23, at the age of 77, to Morocco, and bury him in Casablanca on March 30, but when one of its members went from Morocco to receive the coffin, he discovered the body of a woman.

According to a passenger, the body of her deceased uncle was still in a warehouse at El Prat Airport, adding: "What happened to us is very serious, and we want to file a lawsuit against those who caused us this terrible pain."
