At the Great Buddha Hall, a national treasure of Todaiji Temple in Nara City, it was found after a part of the building was covered with something like liquid.


Police are investigating on suspicion of violating the Law for the Protection of Cultural Properties by analyzing images from security cameras.

After 5 pm on the 14th, at Todaiji Temple in Nara City, the staff of the temple said that the wood that was the foundation of the building called "Ground Cover" on the south side of the Great Buddha Hall, a national treasure, was covered with something like liquid. I found it and reported it to the police.



According to police investigation, after something like liquid, it was found in two places with an interval of about 5 meters, and the color of the wood was darkened in the range of 70 cm to 80 cm in width, respectively.
