With the beginning of the Russian war on Ukraine, some found the opportunity to repeat a set of "cliches" and canned sayings that are meaningless, or are not applicable in all cases at least, the most famous of which was the saying "the one covered by the Americans is naked", while some developed and expanded its range until it is applicable. On the recent war due to the presence of the European Union and NATO among the parties to the crisis, until "the one covered in the West is naked", according to what an Egyptian broadcaster with Russian citizenship said, but he does not declare this publicly!

They rely on historical and contemporary experiences to prove their point, including Washington's refusal to receive the Shah of Iran after the revolution succeeded in deposing him in 1979, as well as Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fleeing Kabul and leaving it to Taliban militants to control it without interference from the US army, after signing an agreement between the Trump administration. And the Taliban for the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, as well as other experiences, such as the fall of the pro-US South Vietnam regime at the hands of communist forces.

Regardless of the extent to which this saying is applied to those experiences or not, the saying seems to be an indirect propaganda for anti-Western countries, such as Russia and China, as in contrast to that image of the West abandoning its allies and betraying them, another imagined image of “the bear appears.” The Russian" who "confronts Western imperialism" and stands by his friends in times of need and does not abandon them.

But who are these allies with whom Russia stood until it became a role model for some?

Others also did not benefit from their rush towards Moscow under the slogans of “heading east” and returning the time of non-alignment and the glories of the “Russian bear” and other empty rhetoric. Waivers thereof in internal files.

A quick survey will clearly reveal that Russia did not stand by “states” in the positive sense, but rather stood by a group of the largest and most tyrannical dictatorial regimes, starting with the Kadyrov regime in Chechnya, passing through the support of the Assad regime in Syria, the Lukashenko regime in Belarus, as well as the ruling regimes In Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Central Africa and Ethiopia against the protests, revolutions and rebellions that erupted against them from their own people.

Even in Sudan, stories of mutual love between the ruling military council and Russia began to appear, the latest of which was Hemedti’s visit to Moscow, in addition to reports of the presence of Russian Wagner mercenaries in Sudan, and leaks about the possibility of establishing Russian naval bases on Sudanese territory.

Khalifa Haftar and his militias are also present here. The massacres and mass graves against Libyan civilians are also present here. Russia also stands in the way of the trial of war criminals before the International Criminal Court, which seems to be the most important thing that impresses political leaders with Moscow's policies because they are concerned with this in one way or another.

Are these “barbaric, dehumanized” regimes that we should follow, according to what they say without thinking?

Even if we examine these cases carefully, away from the prevailing images, it will become clear to us that these regimes have often “naked” even though they are sheltering in Russia;

The Syrian airspace is an open arena for the Israeli air force to have fun in it as it wants and bombard whatever it wants of military targets and sites belonging to the Assad regime or Iran, according to understandings between Moscow and Tel Aviv, although the former deployed advanced air defense systems, but it seems that it is blinded by the Israeli planes!

The Israeli newspaper, The Jerusalem Post, revealed that the Israeli aircraft carried out more than a thousand air raids on targets in Syria during 5 years, thanks to coordination with Russia to prevent the interception of Israeli planes while carrying out their attacks!

As for Ukraine itself, Russia could not do anything to help its ally, former President Viktor Yanukovych, in the face of angry demonstrations against him in 2014, so the latter fled and left his post, and Moscow was satisfied with a military response represented in the occupation of the Crimea, which led to an increase in hatred of Ukrainians. More than ever, Putin won Crimea and parts of the east but lost the entire Ukrainian people after weeks of killing and destruction inflicted by the Russian military machine.

Likewise, Putin did nothing for his ally Armenia last year, leaving it an easy prey for Azerbaijan, which was able to recover its occupied lands three decades ago.

Others also did not benefit from their rush towards Moscow under the slogans of “heading east” and returning the time of non-alignment and the glories of the “Russian bear” and other empty rhetoric. Waivers thereof in internal files.

Putin used the Russian tourism card to blackmail Egypt after the fall of the Russian plane over the Sinai sky in 2015, and has been procrastinating for several years to allow his country's tourists to return.

Despite the danger that the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam poses to Egypt’s future and considering it an existential issue, Russia has strengthened its relationship with the Ethiopian government, and signed a military agreement with it with the aim of “modernizing the capacity of the Ethiopian army in knowledge, skills and technology.” The two parties agreed to enhance military cooperation and increase Russian military sales to Addis Ababa, including "Pantsir" air defense system, and construction of a nuclear power plant in Ethiopia.

Finally, the Russian war on Ukraine came, so that Egypt would be one of the countries most affected by it, as it became threatened by a crisis in wheat supplies due to the faltering imports of Ukrainian wheat and Western sanctions against Russia, which will lead to a significant decrease in the number of Russian tourists, who represent a significant percentage of tourism revenues in Egypt. In addition to the indirect results represented in the exit of billions of dollars of hot money that investors withdrew for fear of the repercussions of the war, which will lead to a wave of inflation, a significant increase in prices and a devaluation of the pound, which heralds major social crises.

Even Iran, Russia's main ally in the Middle East, was subjected to an astonishing blackmail from Moscow;

After reaching a compromise between Tehran and the major powers regarding the signing of a new nuclear agreement, Russia entered the line and stipulated the cancellation of some of the sanctions imposed on it after its war on Ukraine so that it could deal economically with Iran, which led to the faltering negotiations and obstruction of reaching an agreement that Iran needed hardly to get rid of the stifling impact of sanctions on its economy.

Analysts also saw that Russia does not want Iran to be able to quickly return to exporting gas, so as not to be a substitute for Russian gas, which is facing sanctions.

This is what the "Russian bear" does with his allies and those who rush to him and who take him as an example, so what about the rest?!

Even if we go back in time, we will find many experiences of political regimes that did not benefit from the Russian cover.

For example, Egypt was defeated in the 1967 war, despite its heavy reliance on political and military support from the Soviet Union.

As for Afghanistan, it represented an exemplary case, as Soviet forces invaded the country in 1979 to support its allied communist government, and despite that, for nearly 10 years, it was unable to do anything, only to announce its withdrawal after that.

Despite the extensive support provided by Moscow to the government of President Muhammad Najibullah, its "agent", which was represented in huge military and economic aid, as well as food, fuel, technologies and advanced weapons, as well as direct support from the Special Forces, the Afghan regime eventually collapsed and Najibullah detained several Years until the Taliban executed him after entering Kabul for the first time in 1996, and his body was hung in a public square in the center of Kabul to serve as an example to those delusional that they are safe from their people, even if they are covered in the West or the East.
