The "Bandaibashi Tulip Festival", which colors Bandaibashi, the symbol of Niigata City, with tulips raised by citizens, began on the 14th.

This event, which is celebrating its 37th anniversary, is a spring tradition in Niigata City, with approximately 25,000 tulips coloring the roadside of Bandai Bridge and the main street leading to the bridge.

On the 14th, about 30 local kindergarten children attended the ceremony, and Mayor Nakahara of Niigata City said, "I want you to enjoy watching the tulips that the city is proud of."

Tulips are grown by nursery schools, kindergartens, and businesses in the city, and are expected to be in full bloom from around next week.

The children who participated in the ceremony paraded on the Bandai Bridge with cut tulip flowers, and when they found the tulips they had grown, they rushed to observe the flowers.

The children said, "I planted red tulips. They had various colors and were beautiful." Or "I enjoyed seeing them in bloom."

This "Bandai Bridge Tulip Festival" will be held until the 1st of next month.
