China News Service, Wenzhou, April 13th (Wang Titi Xiang Wen Wei) After seven months of online work and a 28-day quarantine period, Wenzhou-Kean University (hereinafter referred to as "Wenken") has a new student in the School of Humanities. Dean Denise M. Horn finally stepped into the Wenken campus when the spring flowers were blooming and started a new job and a new life in Wenzhou, Zhejiang.

It is understood that in addition to Professor Horn, since December last year, 16 new professors have come to the Wenken campus, and they are from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Malaysia and other countries.

Wenken is a Sino-US cooperative university with independent legal personality approved by the Ministry of Education.

In July 2014, the Wen-Ken cooperative education project was listed as the outcome of the fifth round of high-level consultations on China-US people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

In June 2018, the first ministerial and provincial business meeting of the Ministry of Education and Zhejiang Province made it clear that "Wenzhou-Kean University will be included in the demonstration key construction object of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, and support the construction of an international and high-level university".

Wenzhou's beautiful natural scenery, pleasant climatic conditions, Wenken's international campus atmosphere, and young and energetic students...all these make Horn, an American professor who has lived in Boston for a long time, very happy.

The reporter learned that it was the first time for Professor Horn to come to work in China. After the isolation, she couldn't wait to start exploring the city of Wenzhou.

"I love the city, It is a beautiful city. (I love the city, it is a beautiful city.)"

Professor Horn likes to hike. In her opinion, Wenzhou is a very suitable city for hiking.

She also visited Daluo Mountain and Dongtou in the company of colleagues, and praised Wenzhou's beautiful natural scenery.

She said that she had heard about China's strong anti-epidemic measures as early as in the United States. After coming here, she felt the safety and effectiveness of the anti-epidemic measures, and she also felt relieved after a long absence.

And for the upcoming work and life, she is also full of expectations.

She said that Wenken is a young school, and because of her youth, she can get more opportunities and explore more possibilities here.

Coincidentally, Christopher Binstead and Natasha Jardine-Binstead are new husband-and-wife teachers in the Wenken English Department.

Unlike Professor Horn, the Binstead family of four moved from Taiyuan, Shanxi to Wenzhou.

It is understood that in this diverse family, mother Natasha is from South Africa, father Christopher is from England, the eldest son was born in South Korea, and the youngest daughter was born in China.

The family lived in South Korea for 5 years, in southern Libya for 2 years, and then moved to China for 4 years.

The couple have traveled to Beijing, Shanghai and many other big cities in China. Compared with the busy and crowded big cities, Wenzhou has a leisurely and comfortable life, which makes the couple full of praise. "Here is a good environment for a family to settle down and raise children." In On the Wenken campus, they can enjoy the large green scenery anytime and anywhere, and they can also take their children to the school for sightseeing on weekends.

Following Christopher and Natasha's entry, their children went to Wenzhou Union School for Foreign Personnel Children and Wenken Experimental Kindergarten respectively under Wenken's arrangement.

It is reported that both schools are equipped with bilingual learning environment, which makes Christopher and Natasha quite satisfied.

When it comes to the epidemic, Christopher believes that although the epidemic has repeated from time to time, based on the experience of the previous two years, coupled with increasingly advanced medical methods, the situation will gradually improve.
