The spokesperson for the Right to Housing (DAL) association, Jean-Baptiste Eyraud, was arrested on Tuesday in Paris for "rebellion", according to the police headquarters, during a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Housing and placed in police custody, according to a source familiar with the matter.
In a press release, the association protested against this arrest which it described as “muscled”, denouncing a “violent repression against the families” Forgotten from Dalo “”, the Right to housing opposable.
Questioned by AFP, the Paris police headquarters confirmed this arrest, adding that the "rebellion" was the reason.
"Violent arrest"
The association explained in its press release that while the demonstrators “joined the roadway as planned in the declaration of demonstration deposited in the Prefecture, the police (were) intervened brutally”.
"They violently tackled Jean-Baptiste Eyraud to the ground", before he was taken to the police station where he was "served in police custody for 'rebellion'".

Eyraud's custody was confirmed to AFP by a source familiar with the matter.
Denouncing a "violent arrest during a peaceful demonstration of women, men and children", the DAL demanded "the immediate release" of Jean-Baptiste Eyraud and "the cessation of all proceedings against him" .
The DAL demands "the rehousing of the 220 "Forgotten Dalo" families from Place Bastille".
