Akita Prefecture and Akita City announced on the 12th that it was confirmed that 445 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
The number of announcements for the day was the highest ever, surpassing the highest number of 389 people on April 5th last Tuesday.
A total of 19,808 people have been confirmed infected in Akita Prefecture.
