The series “Faten Amal Harbi” managed to lead the “trend” on social media, since the beginning of its presentation during the current month of Ramadan, because of the controversial issues it raises related to the Personal Status Law in Egypt, and the problems faced by women after divorce, through a story Faten Amal Harbi, who gets a divorce after continuous suffering with her ex-husband, and thinks that her suffering ended after the divorce, but finds herself facing a law that may deprive her of her rights and her two daughters, especially with her ex-husband using various tricks to strip her of her rights and humiliate her.

The work also exposes various problems that women face in their lives, such as hotel bans from hosting women under the age of 40, if they do not have a mahram (father, brother, or older son) with them.

But the attack that the series is facing was not only related to the issues it poses, as a large part of it was directly focused on the author of the work, writer Ibrahim Issa, whose work represents his first experience in the field of dramatic writing, and the participants in this attack considered that Issa continues what they described as hostility to religion. And for jurisprudence and the opinions of scholars, through the ideas presented by the series, which are the ideas that he used to put forward in his television programs.

From the technical side, the series faces criticism related to the construction of characters, specifically the character of the heroine embodied by the artist Nelly Karim. She appeared in many scenes speaking in the style of the author himself in his programs, indicating that he did not leave the room for these characters to mature artistically, and have their own voice for expression. About her feelings and thoughts away from the author's personality, she seemed to live in his cloak.

Another attack on social networking sites against “Faten Amal Harbi” was from parents who expressed their dissatisfaction with the series’ bias towards women, stressing that there are many parents who suffer in order to watch their children, which was expressed by a spokesman for the “Association of Parents Affected by the Personal Status Law” Ahmed Ezz, in his “post” on his Facebook page, said: “As long as the media is moving in one direction, we are wrong. Nelly Karim uses the social media to raise the views of her series, she and her colleagues, regardless What this work leaves in the community of corruption.”

On the other hand, the series won the support of a large segment of the pioneers of social networking sites, especially women, for its boldness and realism in raising issues facing women, praising the script's keenness to present the heroine's character as she tries to hold on to hope and smile, despite the crises she suffers from.
