The former Mufti of Egypt: Eating “Khashaf” is forbidden after 5 days of fermentation

The former Grand Mufti of Egypt and one of the scholars of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Dr. Ali Gomaa, answered a question received by a follower on social media, the text of which is: It is said that the khakhaf brews after 5 days and it is forbidden to eat it, is this true?

Dr. Ali Gomaa Mufti, in a video posted on his official page on the social networking site Facebook, said: “Khoshaf is brewing after 5 days, as in this case it is forbidden to eat it, adding: It is forbidden to eat everything that contains kohl, and kohl is what contains carbon and oxygen.”

Dr. Ali Juma’a explained that if carbon is separated from oxygen, it becomes vinegar, just as the origin of vinegar is wine, and vinegar is not forbidden because it dissolves into oxygen and carbon and the formation of acetic acid. Hence, acetic acid has become one of the best types of food. Halal, and not falling into it

And Juma’a, that the forbidden is ethyl kohl, a little and a lot, indicating that the khava, in the case of leaving it for 5 days outside the refrigerator, ferments and becomes haram, as Sharia does not forbid the kohl that is placed in the refrigerator, but rather forbids the khava that is placed outside the refrigerator until it ferments.
