The establishment of the scholarship aims to promote the internationalization and diversification of higher education in Macao, promote the multi-directional exchange of students, and reserve talents for the promotion of the “Belt and Road” construction.

  It is reported that the "Belt and Road" scholarships include two categories: "Scholarships for Study Abroad" and "Scholarships for Studying in Australia".

Among them, the "Scholarship for Study Abroad" is open for applications from April 11 to May 27, with a quota of 20.

Applicants must be Macao permanent residents who have recently graduated from high schools or Mainland Guangdong and Fujian residents who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree from a higher education institution in Macao.

Winners must go to Portugal, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and other countries to pursue full-time bachelor or master programs. The scholarship amount varies from MOP 60,000 to 80,000 depending on the study area. .

  The "Scholarship for Studying in Australia" will accept applications recommended by higher education institutions from April 11 to June 30. Applicants must be recommended by the embassies and consulates of the People's Republic of China in the relevant countries or the Ministry of Education of the country where they are located, and the admission institutions.

Each winning student will receive a scholarship of MOP 100,000 per academic year.
