Alain Ferrandi and Pierre Alessandri, accomplices of Yvan Colonna in the assassination of the prefect Erignac and sentenced to life imprisonment, are being transferred to Borgo prison in Corsica.

The two prisoners left Monday morning the central prison of Poissy (Yvelines) and are on board a plane which must land at the airport of Bastia-Poretta, said these sources.

On March 22, the Prime Minister announced this transfer "by mid-April".

"Detainees (more) particularly reported"

The path to a rapprochement between the two Corsican separatists had been opened after the lifting of their status as “particularly reported detainees” on March 11.

This decision by Prime Minister Jean Castex was aimed at easing tensions after a series of demonstrations and clashes in Corsica, sparked by the attack in prison on Corsican separatist Yvan Colonna, who died of his injuries on March 21.
