In a rare personal insight, Queen Elizabeth II reported on the consequences of her corona disease.

"It makes you very tired and exhausted, doesn't it?" the Queen said in a video call with a former Covid patient was published on Monday night.

The 95-year-old had tested positive for the corona virus in February.

According to the palace, she was experiencing "mild, cold-like symptoms" but still continued to perform light tasks.

Her son and heir to the throne Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Camilla had previously been infected.

In all likelihood, the Queen has been vaccinated three times.

Only the first vaccination had been made public.

In the video call, the head of state also spoke to medical staff from the new "Queen Elizabeth Unit" at the Royal London Hospital, of which the Queen is patron.

The ward for treating Covid patients with 155 beds was expanded in just five weeks.

"It's very interesting, isn't it - when it comes to something very important, how everyone is working together and pulling together - wonderful, isn't it?" said the Queen.
