In Kudoyama Town, a mountain town in the northern part of Wakayama Prefecture, the annual "Nyukawa Passing" with about 100 carp streamers on the river has begun.

"Nyukawa Watari" is held every year by local business and industry associations at this time of year, hoping for the healthy growth of children and the revitalization of Kudoyama Town.

On the 10th, about 15 members of the local business and industry association gathered in the Nyukawa flowing through the town.

Then, I handed over two ropes over about 110 meters on both banks of the river, and connected the carp streamers, which were handed over from local households and made by elementary school students with their own handprints, to the ropes one by one.

Then, when the rope was pulled slowly, about 100 colorful carp streamers such as red, black, and blue flew into the sky in a pleasant breeze.

Parents and children who came to see Nyukawa Watari said, "This year is blessed with good weather and is very beautiful."

Masateru Kuribayashi, director of the Youth Department of the Kudoyama Town Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is planning this event, said, "I want you to be energized by seeing the carp streamers swimming on the river and come to Kudoyama Town."

Carp streamer means to swim on the river until Children's Day, the 5th of next month.
