Munesuke Mita, a sociologist and professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, has passed away.

He was 84 years old.

Mr. Mita is from Tokyo, and after graduating from the University of Tokyo, he worked as a professor at his alma mater, and then taught at Kyoritsu Women's University.



While using the pen name of Munesuke Mita, he continued to write from a wide range of perspectives, dealing with "Hell of the Eyes", which deepened his consideration based on the former convict on death row Norio Nagayama, who was a boy at the time of the crime, and modern society, informatization, and consumption. The "theory of modern society" has influenced many people.



She energetically conducted research activities by setting up a place to interact with the citizens as a "tree school", but in 2017 she stopped this activity because her eye disease had progressed.



According to her sources, she said Mita died on the 1st of this month.
