With “Löwenherz”, Monika Helfer continues her story of growing up in difficult circumstances in a family in Vorarlberg, based on the highly acclaimed autofictional novels “Baggage” and “Vati”.

This time it's about the little brother.

The latter's best friend has become helper's husband, the writer Michael Köhlmeier.

His latest novel "Matou" tells a life from the French Revolution to the present - a cat's life, seven lives, otherwise it would not be possible.

The couple have been together for forty years.

On March 24, Monika Helfer and Michael Köhlmeier were guests at the Literaturhaus for a conversation about living together and writing separately, exchange, the difference between envy and resentment, looking at each other's work and a tie book where they work together again.

It was moderated by Sandra Kegel.

"Löwenherz" by Monika Helfer has 192 pages and costs 20 euros.

Michael Köhlmeier's "Matou" has 960 pages and costs 34 euros.

Both books were published by Hanser Verlag.

Hörverlag offers the works in unabridged readings by the author as audio books, each at the price of the printed book.
