A 51-year-old police officer from the Metropolitan Police Department was arrested for hiding stimulants in a police station desk.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details of the investigation by saying, "I was thinking of using it as a teaching material."

The person arrested was Kazumasa Nakagawa (51), an assistant inspector who belongs to the Organizational Crime Countermeasures Division of the Asakusa Police Department of the Metropolitan Police Department.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, there is a suspicion of violating the Stimulant Drug Control Law, alleging that he had a small amount of stimulant hidden in his desk in his office before 10 am on the 10th.

In March, we received information that we had stimulants at work, and as a result of an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department, we found that stimulants were in the drawer of the locked desk.

He admitted to the investigation and stated that he was thinking of using it as a teaching material for a simple test of stimulants.

The Metropolitan Police Department does not use real stimulants as teaching materials for simple tests.

On the other hand, no evidence of stimulant use has been confirmed so far, so the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details.

Inspector Nakagawa has worked in the organized crime countermeasures department for more than 10 years, and has also been in charge of investigating illegal drugs.

Regarding the arrest of the police officer, the Metropolitan Police Department commented, "It is a serious act as a police officer and it is extremely regrettable. I would like to thoroughly investigate in the future and take strict measures based on the facts revealed." ..
