[Explanation] Ye Peiying, a professor of the Voice and Song Department of the Central Conservatory of Music and a soprano singer, died in Beijing on April 7, 2022, at the age of 87.

She has sung many classic songs such as "I Love You, China" and "Ode to the Motherland".

On April 8, when singer Ping An recalled Ye Peiying, she said that when she was working together, she felt that she was in good health, and it felt very sudden to hear the news.

From the first few contacts, in fact, Teacher Ye's physical condition, mental condition and thinking are all very agile and very good.

When I worked with her in 2019, I talked a lot, but I didn't expect it to be so sudden.

[Explanation] Ye Peiying was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1935, and returned to China at the age of 15. After graduating from middle school, he was admitted to the vocal music department of the Central Conservatory of Music.

In the late 1970s, with the popularity of a movie "Overseas Babies" that reflected the love of overseas Chinese to the motherland, the theme song "I Love You, China" sung by Ye Peiying spread all over China.

[Commentary] Ping An recalled that when they recorded the program together, Ye Peiying analyzed her understanding of the song word by word, and she benefited a lot as a junior.

The song "I Love You, China" may actually be a kind of love for me, but for them (overseas Chinese), they are not only love for the motherland, but they also gave a lot of youth and put in a lot of action.

Teacher Ye Peiying will tell me word by word what kind of picture and what kind of situation she was in when she was singing this song.

For example, at the beginning, "larks flew through the blue sky", right?

For this song, because of the band's compilation, we actually fixed the tempo, but she said that this is actually a feeling. It can be dragged for a long time or it can be dragged very close, depending on my grasp of a picture. .

[Explanation] On April 8, the Central Conservatory of Music issued an obituary, which wrote, "She did her best to spend her whole life, pouring her patriotic feelings into vocal performance art and music education, and won everyone's love and love. Highly commended".

Ping An recalled that Ye Peiying cherished the experience of every stage performance. Even though she was over eighty years old, before each performance, she would practice her voice backstage to adjust her state.

She said that I cherish the experience of every stage performance.

Although I'm older now, she said that before, I might only need to open my voice for ten minutes. Now I need to open my voice for at least half an hour or even an hour, but I have to move a little earlier than the young people because I am older.

She still has to fight, so she won't drop the key. Although she is getting older, I think that after she prepares for this state every time, the songs she sings are the same every time I see them. The level, this is what makes me feel very commendable.

[Commentary] "I Love You, China" sings not only the feelings of overseas children, but also the feelings of the Chinese nation.

Singer Ping An also wrote in the condolence text: "Junior will continue to carry forward the fine tradition of old artists and sing this song well."

  [Concurrent] Singer Ping An

No matter how different our age is from theirs, our love for our country is actually the same.

I also want to inherit the spirit of our old artists who are serious about artistic life, and can continue to sing this song better.
