• Based near Nantes, Alexclick is known on the Web for its lives on Twitch, especially around video games.

  • The 36-year-old from Nantes is one of the most followed streamers in France on the Twitch channel.

  • He talks about his daily life as a streamer, his projects and the construction of his GTA RP character: Miguel.

At 36, Alexclick is now one of the best-known video game streamers in France.

Very popular on the networks, whoever plays Miguel in the GTA game defines himself as an

entertainer

.

The Nantes native is also hyperactive, for whom the projects are endless.

Maintenance.

Alexclick, today you are a streamer.

What was your background before starting, in particular, on Twitch?

I had a double career: my passion for acting on the one hand.

I put together a first one man show which was more than mediocre!

On the other hand, I studied communication.

I worked for several companies then I set up my own company.

When I arrived in Nantes, I was offered to work in communications for a telecom company, but first doing six months on a telephone set to better understand the workings.

I lived six months of hell and I got nothing at the end in fact.

Psychologically, I cracked!

That is to say ?

I took a break and started making little videos on the Internet, where I commented on video games with a friend.

It was almost ten years ago.

At the time, there weren't that many people on Youtube.

Today, we migrate more and more to Twitch.

Initially, it was purely a hobby to occupy my work stoppage.

You are now very present on Twitch with GTA RP (roleplay).

Describe your job as a streamer…

Video games are still the best-selling entertainment product in the world.

So there is a whole economy behind it.

Twitch has opened up a lot.

There was an explosion at the time of the Covid, because people were staying at home doing nothing.

But people don't necessarily come for video games.

In truth, I'm very bad at video games, people come to see me for the animation, for the entertainment side.

Some people tell me, "watching RP, it's kind of my best life".

Today I also accompany companies in the work of live on Twitch.

I also do product placement in my lives.

I don't hide it.

It's like on a TV channel with commercials.

But suddenly, what is a streamer really?

That's six or seven professions!

I stream 25-30 hours a week.

But it's not asking, putting on a microphone, cameras and then there you go.

You already have to know if you're here because you're good at video games or because you're an

entertainer

.

It's a lot of work then to stay with your community.

I make money from people who subscribe to my channel.

But it is above all this visibility that allows me to sell products on the side.

I also have my brand of clothes.

I was very careful that these clothes didn't look too geeky.

What do you mean, too "geeky"?

I hate the fact that we just see a geek through the glasses, with the t-shirt askew, who is not able to express himself and who has no friends.

Because it is wrong.

On the Internet, people have lives, families, professions.

In particular, you play with your character Miguel in GTA.

How do you imagine your character's story?

I use everything I learned at the base as an actor and then a screenwriter.

When I created Miguel, for example, he has a whole bible, a story, like when you create a TV series.

Miguel already existed in my head, I had to write him down afterwards, create a complete file on him.

Then you play that character live on Twitch.

On my server, we play with 700 other people.

So you don't choose everything because you have people in front of you.

And that's what's great!

At 36, do you feel like the standard for streamers?

I think I'm one of those with the oldest communities.

I am a bit atypical, out of frame.

And then I have lots of activities, I find it hard not to have lots of projects.

Because my first job is not to be a streamer.

So, at the beginning, I also had to catch up with a video game culture that I didn't necessarily have.

I had basics, but...

One of your side activities was to create a comic strip around Miguel…

The comic was released last February.

I take projects as they come and as they please me.

Now I don't know how long this will last.

For my first year, I did the Angoulême festival.

It was a bit crazy!

Streamer, father, entrepreneur… Are you hyperactive?

Yes completely!

I have also been a volunteer firefighter in the Nantes region for three years.

I am very proud to belong to it, even if I have to put this activity on hold for a year.

I'm sick of it because it's a real passion for me.

And then it allows you to keep your feet on the ground, no matter what job you do.

My little problems on Twitch are nothing when I find myself on a resuscitation momentarily.

Do you have other ongoing projects?

I am currently working on the acquisition of a new studio, to set up new lives.

I would also like to start a series on the dark side of Miguel.

It's a project that I promised during the Z Event and I try to keep all my commitments.

I'm working on Volume 2 of the comics too.

Here, I'm more free than on Twitch, where I'm in pure improv theater all the time.

But playing Miguel is fun!
