The department of Hauts-de-Seine and the National Forestry Office (ONF) announced at the end of March their joint intention to invest 2.4 million euros in the woods of the department.

The two organizations have signed a transfer and subsidy agreement on this subject in favor of urban forests.

The indicated budget will be spread over five years specifies

The funds will be used to ensure the maintenance and development of walking and hiking trails in the forests of Meudon, Verrières, Fausse-Reposes and Malmaison (Hauts-de-Seine).

These four national sites are spread over nine municipalities in the department.

The NFB recently adopted a new preservation policy there.

The office intends in particular "to remedy the weaknesses and threats weighing on the forest area and to enhance the assets and opportunities of the latter", explained the Department in a press release.

The partnership was signed by the director of the Île-de-France Ouest territorial agency of the ONF Michel Béal and the LR president of Hauts-de-Seine Georges Siffredi.
