At that time, the anti-epidemic situation in Hong Kong was extremely severe. At the request of the SAR government, with the approval of the Party Central Committee, an emergency hospital was built in the Lok Ma Chau Loop.

More than 20,000 builders from all corners of the country set off in retrograde to build the "boat of life".

The Central Aid Hong Kong Emergency Hospital is a respiratory infectious disease specialist hospital. The first phase can provide 500 negative pressure beds (including 32 ICU beds and 2 operating rooms) and all medical and auxiliary functions.

  It is understood that the first phase of the Central Aid Hong Kong Emergency Hospital Project officially started on March 6, completed and passed the inspection on April 5, and handed over on April 7.

After all the construction is completed, the Central Aid Hong Kong Emergency Hospital will have a 1,000-bed negative pressure ward (including 3 operating rooms and 100 ICU beds) and medical technology facilities such as radiology department, laboratory department, central supply department, blood transfusion department, as well as a pharmacy. , sewage treatment station, oxygen station, negative pressure traction station and other medical supporting facilities.
