A church source revealed that a person stabbed Arsanius Oded, the priest in the Church of the Virgin Mary in the Muharram Bek area in Alexandria, and he was immediately transferred to the hospital, but he breathed his last upon his arrival.

He added that the priest had a major role in the Church of the Virgin Mary in Muharram Bey and an active service in the Karmouz area, and also established the Church of the Virgin and the Apostle Paul on Isis Street in Karmouz.


He added that the accident occurred while the priest was leaving the beach, accompanied by a group of young men, who were on a recreational trip.

He confirmed that those present managed to immobilize the killer and catch him until the police arrived.


The prosecution was notified, which took over the investigation, as the security services are making efforts to uncover the circumstances of the accident and to know the motives of the killer.

For its part, the Ministry of Interior stated that the security services of the Alexandria Security Directorate managed to arrest a 60-year-old man who assaulted a Christian cleric while he was walking on the Corniche in the Sidi Bishr area of ​​Alexandria using a "knife" he had in his possession.

She added that the injured was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he died as soon as he was rescued, noting that legal measures were taken.
