Unions at the Saint-Brieuc hospital (Côtes-d'Armor) recently estimated that the establishment "crossed the red line" in terms of staff shortages.

The general secretary of the FO union Carine Le Tertre spoke of a “dramatic situation” and “disgusted” caregivers.

, she also deplored the use of poorly trained temporary workers in the health professions.

The CGT has estimated the number of contractual employees currently working at the Saint-Brieuc hospital at 850.

Faced with the proliferation of departures of the latter, trade unionists want them to be more easily established, as requested by the interested parties themselves.

More shifts, less overtime

Staff representatives have also called for the creation of positions instead of overtime.

Ariane Besnard, director of the establishment, for her part indicated to Ouest-France that 40 positions for nurses and nursing assistants were not filled.

"It's a level of tension I've never experienced before," she said.
