In addition, three universities in Hong Kong were selected as the top ten universities in Asia due to the large number of top 50 disciplines, namely the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

  QS subdivides the five academic categories of arts and humanities, engineering and technology, and life sciences into 51 disciplines, and compares the performance of 15,200 courses in 51 disciplines by students from 88 countries or regions and 1,543 universities around the world.

Nine Hong Kong universities made the list with a total of 178 courses, and 27 rankings in broad subject areas, for a total of 205 rankings.

Among them, 87 subjects rose, 70 subjects fell, 5 subjects were newly added, and 43 subjects remained unchanged.

Among them, the University of Hong Kong accounts for 5 subjects, including Dentistry, Education, Geography, Linguistics and Social Policy and Management.

The best-ranked is dentistry, which has risen to second place from third place last year.

Social Policy and Management has also made rapid progress, ranking 8th this year, up 15 places from last year.

Geography and Linguistics both ranked 10th, up 1 place from last year.

Education ranked 8th, down 1 place from last year.

  The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Hotel and Leisure Management ranks 10th in the world, down 1 place from last year.

Architecture and built environment, art and design ranked 15th and 16th in the world respectively.

Linguistics was the best performer at City University of Hong Kong, ranking 30th, up 13 places from last year.

  In addition, the Chinese University of Hong Kong's communication and media degree ranks 13th.

Hong Kong Baptist University is also the best performer in Communication and Media Studies.

  QS also ranked the top 10 universities in Asia based on the number of university subjects in the top 50 globally, with three universities in Hong Kong selected.

Among them, the University of Hong Kong decreased by 2 subjects compared with previous years. This year, 26 subjects ranked in the top 50 in the world, ranking sixth in Asia.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have 19 and 14 subjects entered the top 50 in the world, ranking 8th and 10th in Asia.
