), dependent on the Ministry of Health, published an alert for a

drug

intended to treat

depression and anxiety

.

Specifically, it has withdrawn a batch of the

200 mg film-coated drug Semonic

in its presentation of 30 tablets.

As indicated by the agency, the

affected batch

is 110122 with an expiration date of 07/31/2023 and the manufacturer is Ferrer Internacional.

The

AEMPS

has demanded that they be returned to the laboratory, through the established channels, because a result

that is not among the "stability study specifications"

has been detected in another batch from the same bulk.

WHAT IS SEMONIC USED FOR?

According to the package insert, Semonic contains

sertraline as an active

ingredient and belongs to a group of medicines called Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs).
