In Burkina Faso, 35 years after the events, the verdict of the trial of the assassination of Thomas Sankara was rendered, yesterday Wednesday, April 6, by the military court of Ouagadougou.

On October 15, 1987, the father of the Burkinabè revolution was assassinated, along with 12 of his collaborators, at the Council of the Entente, the seat of revolutionary power.

His best friend, Blaise Compaoré, who will succeed him as president, Hyacinthe Kafando - chief of security for Blaise Compaoré - and General Gilbert Diendéré, then head of security for the Conseil de l'Entente, were sentenced to life imprisonment. .

It took 25 years of legal battle, six months of trial and more than 110 testimonies to obtain this verdict.
