According to the city of Nishitokyo, on the 2nd of this month, a nurse used an empty syringe at a mass inoculation site for children aged 5 to 11 years old with a new coronavirus vaccine installed in a commercial facility in the city. Was accidentally stabbed in the arm of an elementary school girl.



She noticed the mistake because she had already had the syringe pushed in when the nurse tried to inject the drug.



The used syringe was supposed to be put in a waste box, but the nurse in charge put it on a tray on her desk after vaccination of the child in front of her and used it as it was. It means that it has been done.



The city apologizes to children and parents and will continue to monitor their health.



Nishitokyo City says, "We want to make sure that the disposal box is placed near the person in charge and that used syringes are discarded."
