Veronica Maggio is one of the two-time nominated artists for P3 Gold this year - but the gala is canceled and no winners will be announced.

Instead, the nominees pay tribute throughout Wednesday.

The gala was first postponed due to the pandemic, then P3 decided to only reveal the nominees.

- We have turned and twisted and thought about whether we would move everything - we had made an arrangement where we had the gala in our own radio house and that was what became difficult to move, said Anna-Karin Larsson, area manager for music at Swedish Radio, previously to TT.

Several artists have been nominated twice, including pop queen Zara Larsson, house legends Swedish House Mafia and internationally hyped Snoh Aalegra.

Larsson can be found in the heavy category artist of the year, together with José González, Miss Li, Snoh Aalegra and Thomas Stenström.

The song of the year category includes hit singles such as Myra Granberg's "Lose my mind", A36's "Samma gamla vanliga" and Miriam Bryant's and Victor Leksell's "Tystnar i luren".

A36 also returns in the newcomer of the year category, together with Daniela Rathana, Felicia Takman, Hannes and Sam Ezeh.

On Wednesday, April 6, P3 pays tribute to the music, and invites some of the nominees to the studio.
