" Victoire !

exclaims on his Twitter account, the League of Human Rights France.

After two years of "relentless struggle with the Abbé-Pierre Foundation", the administrative court has just canceled the decree issued by the town hall of Nice in 2019 against "aggressive begging" for the summer, justifying its decision by the lack of “necessary and proportionate measures”.

Anthony Borré, first deputy mayor of Nice, "mocked" the reaction of the Human Rights League, which is "rejoiced" when the decree is no longer "applicable since September 2019".

Strange to rejoice for a decree that has no longer been applicable since September 2019. We are at your disposal to give you an inventory of the decrees in force 😉 https://t.co/8fokb0DJKT

“Even obsolete, this decree shamed the city of Nice.

It is an order that was discriminatory.

It was yet another drift from the “postcard policy” defended with so much zeal by Christian Estrosi, ”reacted Juliette Chesnel-Le Roux, elected EELV to the town hall, with

A decree which "very largely exceeds the summer period"

In 2019, Christian Estrosi had signed this text which prohibited begging "when it disturbs the tranquility and safety of people" or "interferes with traffic" in "tourist sectors" and "around local shops".

And this, from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., until September 30.

The judge considered that this measure was “likely to affect in a specific way the freedom of coming and going of people, in particular those in a precarious situation, present on the territory of the municipality”.

Especially since it has, according to justice, “very largely exceeded the summer period, the one which justified the application of such a decree, and over a very wide hourly range of seventeen hours a day.

The municipality of Nice was ordered to pay 1,000 euros to the League of Human Rights, "for the costs incurred and not included in the costs".
