The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has informed the local government to aim for a system where doctors can be dispatched to the facility for treatment, etc.

In the "6th wave" where the infection of Omicron strain spread, infections in facilities for the elderly continued, and according to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the number of cases where clusters and two or more people were infected has exceeded 3,000 in total since January. increase.

The sickbeds were temporarily tight in various places, and many users were unable to be hospitalized and their symptoms worsened during medical treatment at the facility.

For this reason, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has notified local governments nationwide to aim for a system that can provide treatment at facilities.

Specifically, we request that all facilities secure medical institutions that can receive home visits and dispatch of doctors and nurses when infections of users and staff are found.

Until now, the national government has stated that in principle, infected elderly people will be hospitalized, but it is also possible to provide medical treatment at facilities depending on the physical condition and the tightness of the bed.

In addition, when requested by the facility to prevent the spread of the infection, a team of doctors and nurses will be dispatched within 24 hours to teach how to divide the living space and how to put on and take off protective clothing.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says, "In principle, there is no change in the policy of hospitalization, but we would like to establish a system that allows medical treatment outside of medical institutions in case the infection spreads again."
