During the Qingming Festival, the police from the Dulongjiang Border Police Station accompanied the 72-year-old Qi Chunzhen and his family to the Bapo Martyrs Cemetery for sacrifice.

Qi Chunzhen's husband Qi Dang here has been sacrificed for 43 years, and the family and the police at the Dulongjiang Border Police Station will always remember him.

  Qi Dangzhen joined the police in 1965 and was a soldier at the Dulongjiang border police station.

"Sister-in-law, something happened to eldest brother Qi..." Qi Chunzhen still remembers that it was one afternoon in August 1979, when Qi Dangzhen was on his way to look for cattle for the Dulong people when a blizzard occurred and hid in a cave because he accidentally ingested poison. Mushroom poisoning unfortunately died.

  "I saw my husband lying quietly in the mourning hall, and I want him to open his eyes to see me again." After walking more than ten kilometers to the Dulongjiang police station, Qi Chunzhen cried and rushed to Qi Dang's side. She didn't know that she How did he survive? "I just remember crying non-stop, my tears dried up, and my voice became hoarse." At that time, Qi Dang's eldest daughter had just turned 4 years old, her son was only 2 years old, and Qi Chunzhen was still pregnant with several month old child.

  "When you are a soldier, you must be a qualified soldier, a soldier who serves the people, and a soldier who dares to sacrifice for the people's cause." This was Qi Dang's motto during his lifetime.

After Qi Dang's sacrifice, the policemen from the Dulongjiang Police Station often visited his home to help with farm work and solve family difficulties.

For 43 years, the frontier police in Dulongjiang have changed one after another, and this yearning and concern has never stopped.

  Whenever a new police officer joins, the director and instructor will take them to the martyr's cemetery for sacrifice and tell the touching stories of the long river.

Some time ago, the police planned to raise money to help Qi Chunzhen's grandson go to school. They said, "Whether it is high school or university, as long as the child's academic performance is good, they will continue to pay."

  Today is the day when I agreed with the police to sweep the grave for her husband Qi. The old man Qi Chunzhen got up early and put on clean clothes. She boiled 6 eggs and fried a bowl of popcorn.

She recalled, "This was Qi Dang's favorite food during his lifetime. When he was alive, he always peeled the first egg for me to eat. He was such a good husband."

  The car was driving on the winding Dulongjiang Highway, and Qi Chunzhen stopped several times because of motion sickness.

On both sides of the mountain road leading to the Martyrs Cemetery in Bapo Village, unknown little flowers bloomed, and two or three new leaves grew on the tips of the camellia branches.

  "At this point, I brought my son and grandson to see you today. We have missed you so much for so many years, and life in Dulongjiang is getting better and better..." Old man Qi Chunzhen came to the tomb of Qidang, crying about his family A good life, shaking hands, peeled an egg and placed it in front of the tombstone.

  "Father, I was only two years old when you left. Mom told me a lot about you later. She raised our three brothers and sisters by herself over the years and suffered a lot. Don't worry, I will definitely take care of you. Guard this home." Supporting his mother, the eldest son Qi Wenming burst into tears.

  Grandson Qi Shunyong is in junior high school. Although he has never met, grandfather Qi's deeds have long been deeply rooted in his heart.

  When parting, the old man Qi Chunzhen turned back after a few steps, the sad figure was particularly old as he walked slowly.

The group gradually moved away, it rained in the gloomy sky, the newly planted cypress trees in the cemetery swayed gently in the wind, and they were pulling out new branches under the shade of the big trees.
