Classes resumed on Tuesday morning when an investigation was opened by the Lyon prosecutor's office.

On Monday, "several school life staff" from the Paul Eluard college in Vénissieux were attacked by four individuals.

In the morning, these people, who are not students, entered the establishment.

They asked to speak to the staff and were "aggressive" verbally and physically, "strongly jostling" a supervisor who had to be hospitalized, indicates the rectorate of Lyon.

This aggression "would be in connection with a student", added the office of the rector, specifying however to be in the process of "determining the reasons".

No arrest

"No attack on the school of the Republic can be tolerated," said Olivier Dugrip, rector of Lyon, indicating that these facts had created "a great stir" in this establishment of 740 students.

The college closed Monday afternoon.

At this stage, "no arrest has taken place" specifies the prosecution.
