In the five years up to last year, 30 elementary school students died in an accident while riding a bicycle, and the National Police Agency has decided to further promote safety measures and crackdown on malicious drivers.
As the national road safety campaign began in the spring, the National Police Agency analyzed in detail the cases in which elementary school students were riding bicycles and had an accident.
According to it, it was found that 30 people died and 1352 people were seriously injured in the five years until last year.
The most serious accidents were in the 4th grade with 316 people, followed by the 5th grade with 305 people and the 6th grade with 243 people, which are conspicuous in the upper grades.
By time of day, there are many accidents around sunset from 4 pm to 5 pm.
During the traffic safety campaign, the National Police Agency will focus on preventing accidents for children, and will strengthen the crackdown on malicious drivers.
