Amy Schumer saw some of these censored punchlines at the Oscars.
The comedian was part of the trio of presenters for the ceremony, alongside Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall, and while she was relatively free to say what she wanted, she couldn't go as far as she wanted , on the advice of a lawyer.
During a stand-up show in Las Vegas this week, relayed by The
Hollywood Reporter
, the star returned to the altercation between Will Smith, whom she nicknamed Ali (like the boxer Mohamed Ali), and Chris Rock .
“It was just a fucking big disappointment.
All I can say is that it was really sad, and I think that says a lot about toxic masculinity.
It was really upsetting, but I think the best way to comfort us would be if I said the jokes about the Oscars that I was not allowed to say on television…”, she began.
Not funny
Among these “prohibited” jokes, Amy Schumer makes fun of Joe Rogan, or James Franco, but one in particular was very badly seen: that on the tragic death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of
Rust
.
"
Don't Look Up
is the title of a film this year, I would rather say don't look [don't look, in English] in Alec Baldwin's gun", she says to her public.
A joke of questionable taste and the Academy (or ABC) probably saved the day by hitting it again.
One wonders why, after avoiding the bad buzz she would have inevitably caused, the comedian felt compelled to leak her in public…
