On Sunday night, the 64th Grammy Awards took place in Las Vegas, USA.

The gala marks the most important evening of the year for the music industry. 

Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky participated in the gala via a pre-recorded video, in which he encouraged the support of the Ukrainian people.  

“What is the equivalent of music?

The silence that occurs in destroyed cities and by murdered people.

Fill the silence with music, fill it today, to tell our story.

"Help us the way you can, everything works, except silence," the president said, according to Reuters.

"My biggest dream"

19-year-old Olivia Rodrigo was nominated in seven categories and won the award for Best Solo Performing Category Pop.

She also received a Grammy for Best New Artist. 

- This is my biggest dream come true, thank you, she said when she received the award. 

Silk Sonic took home the award for song of the year with the song Leave the door open.

The duo consists of Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak, who also performed at the gala with their song 777, the prize was awarded by Questlove from The Roots.  

Foo Fighters canceled 

Foo Fighters, whose drummer Taylor Hawkins recently passed away, received three awards during the pre-TV gala: best rock performance, best rock song and best rock album.

However, no one from the band was in Las Vegas to receive any awards. 

The Foo Fighters were supposed to perform at the gala, but the performance, as well as the band's planned tour, was canceled when Hawkins died after being found lifeless in a hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia on March 25. 

No Grammy for Göransson 

The Swede Ludwig Göransson was nominated in the category "music of the year from a visual medium" for the second season of the space series The mandalorian. 

But there was no prize this time.

The statuette went instead to the movie The United States vs.

Billie Holliday.
