Abdulaziz Al-Zahrani, the father of the girl, Maha, the former husband of the victim, who died of acid at the hands of her husband, did not expect his daughter to be a victim of the same “acid” that he uses in his work in the field of mechanics.
In a press statement, he said that the substance is very dangerous, although he specializes in the field of car maintenance, but he does not like to use it unless it is absolutely necessary due to the seriousness of the substance.
He added that he did not expect to see his daughter Maha in this condition of severe fourth-degree burns on her feet, and that the child was living in difficult circumstances due to her illness and the loss of her mother - may God have mercy on her - who separated from her due to a difference of views.
He confirmed to "Al Arabiya.net" that his daughter needs medical and cosmetic treatment, and that she is still in the "Al-Nour Hospital" in Mecca, which does not have these specialties due to her need for plastic surgery in one of the advanced hospitals specialized in treating and beautifying children.
He added that he was surprised that this substance was allowed to be sold and used to clean homes, and this matter is dangerous, and it is necessary to control its use and selling it to specialized parties because it is a chemical with a danger of up to 100%.
And he demanded a ban on selling it, considering it a restricted and prohibited substance for the safety of young and old, and that it must be spent on a specialist, and for special uses, hoping that the concerned authorities will respond to him, and prevent the sale of these materials except to an approved institution, or a technician specialized in the use of these dangerous materials.
He stressed that he will not waive the punishment of the perpetrator because of the excruciating pain his daughter suffers from because of this harmful substance.
He also called for her urgent transfer to a hospital specialized in pediatric surgery and plastic surgery in these burns.
