Nestlé Japan, a major food manufacturer headquartered in Kobe, has decided to raise the price of confectionery such as "KitKat" from the delivery in July in response to the soaring raw material prices.

According to the announcement, Nestlé Japan will raise the price of two items of confectionery such as "KitKat Mini 12 pieces" by more than 30 yen from the delivery on July 1st.

For 10 items such as "KitKat Mini", we will reduce the content and raise the price in substance from the release on June 15th, while keeping the price unchanged.

Regarding the reason, the company says that the price increase of cacao beans, sugar, wheat, etc., which are the raw materials for chocolate, and the depreciation of the yen are progressing, so it is not possible to absorb the increase in cost only by corporate efforts. ..

Regarding confectionery, although we have changed the content, it is the first time since the product was released that the price itself has been revised.

In the confectionery industry, Meiji has also decided to raise prices for 136 items such as chocolate and gummies from next month's shipments, and as raw material prices continue to rise, it is expected that price increases will continue to spread.
