At a solar power generation facility in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, a copper wire cable worth about 13 million yen was found stolen late last month, and police are investigating it as a theft case.

According to Ota City, at around 1:30 pm on the 24th of last month, it was found that the amount of power generated in the morning at the "Ota Solar Power Plant" in Ota City was only about one-sixth of the conventional amount.

According to city officials, a total of about 2.5 kilometers of copper cable, about 13 million, was laid in the manhole to connect the solar panels and the equipment that converts the electricity flowing from them. It means that the equivalent of the circle was lost in the cut state.

The police, who received a damage report from the city, said that one screw on the metal fence surrounding the site had been unscrewed to allow entry and exit, and someone invaded the site and made a copper cable. I'm investigating it as if I stole it.

According to the city, it seems that the copper wire was stolen between the night of the 23rd of last month and the next morning, the day before the copper wire was found to be missing, due to the situation of power generation.

The amount of power generation continues to be one-sixth, and Ota City is rushing to recover and will strengthen security in the future.
