The Mufti of Jordan: We prayed to the Prophet 1,000 times before the announcement of Ramadan!

The Grand Mufti of Jordan, Abdul Karim Al-Khasawneh, said that Jordan's decision to adopt Sunday, the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, is correct.

"We prayed to the Prophet a thousand times before we issue a statement announcing Ramadan, which pleases God," he continued, in statements to a Jordanian local radio station.

He added that the Ifta Department relies on forensic science, astronomical calculations, and the Islamic Fiqh Academy, in investigating the crescent of the month of Ramadan.

He explained that it was difficult to see the crescent of the month of Ramadan with the naked eye or through a telescope.

He stated that Jordan adopts the legitimate vision to announce Ramadan, which was not achieved.

And he continued, "The moon needs to be seen 15 hours after its birth is completed," calling on everyone who claims that Jordan made a mistake by announcing the date of Ramadan to come up with clear legal evidence that explains the mistake.

Al-Khasawneh rejected the accusations and insults made by Jordanian citizens on social media to the Ifta Department, due to the date of Ramadan, criticizing some people's bullying against Jordan for declaring Ramadan alone and violating some countries.
