Dr. Essam explained, during his hosting of the “Shari’a and Life in Ramadan” program on 3/4/2022, the meaning of moderation, and attributed its linguistic significance to 3 meanings: justice, charity, and the commendable balance that prevents the individual from being between the two extremes of excess and negligence.

And the Holy Qur’an - Dr. Essam adds - indicates moderation with many meanings, including “the straight path”, the call to righteousness, and the prohibition of exaggeration.

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Beware of exaggeration in religion.”

The overall meaning of the word moderation through the aforementioned connotations, according to what the Vice-President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars believes, is that Islam presents a guiding approach to place, time and man, connected to reality, explained in the language of the times, open to diligence and innovation, advanced in means and mechanisms, stable and flexible in branches And the molecules and facilitated the fatwa.

And on how to achieve the concept of moderation between the hardliners and the excessive and lenient ones, Dr. Al-Bashir believes that teaching the truth is a duty in which the nature of the addressees and the mental ceiling of these addressees are taken into account, and thirdly, taking into account gradualism and progression, not in analysis and prohibition, but in the policy of application.

And he considered that the behavior of those who infidel people arises from a lack of knowledge, and that the issue of atonement has conditions that must be fulfilled and barriers that must be negated, and not releasing public infidelity entails excommunicating the person concerned, calling for the need for the well-established scholars to confront the behavior of the infidels.

The Vice-President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars also regretted that Islamic science has become like permissible pasture, surprising that people respect specialization in all aspects of human knowledge, except in religion.

Concerning the concept of moderation in worship, he pointed out that man is composed of two elements, clay and spirit, and that the moderation view is based on the intermarriage between these two elements.

The Messenger - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - presented moderation to people, as he worshiped God Almighty until his feet swollen and he also lived the rest of the aspects of life.

The most dangerous thing that mediation faces

And on how to confront the phenomenon of attacks on the constants, the Vice-President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars believes that one of the most dangerous challenges that moderation is facing in the current era is that this moderation is being domesticated, either by the pressure of the rulers, that is, to separate the fatwa for them according to what they desire, or by the whims of the common people, where the preacher Just like the artist, he delivers what the listeners are asking for.

Dr. Al-Bashir points out that there is a hidden attack on the constants of religion, as there is doubt about the Sunnah and the Companions, and in the science of jurisprudence under the pretext of renewal, and he said that it is the duty of scholars to define and defend the constants of Islam, and to show the danger of those who attack religion under the pretext of moderation.
