  In Qinghai in the early spring, the mating and breeding of various migratory birds has begun, and various breeding migratory birds such as herons have entered a critical period of competing for territory and nesting and breeding.

Recently, researchers from Qinghai National Park Bird Watching Association went to Hedong Township, Guide County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province to carry out the annual monitoring of heron nesting and breeding.

Through monitoring, it is found that the location of the heron breeding area is relatively hidden, far away from the main traffic road, difficult for humans to reach, and the area with low interference. The nest site is chosen to be built in the trunk of the tree that is hard enough to support the weight of the nest, and the height and density of the surrounding branches can provide good shelter. effect on tall trees.

  Up to now, there have been more than 60 heron nests in this area, and the number of herons is about 70, some of which have begun to lay eggs.
